Two long-standing concepts from Strategic Hospitality are relocating to SomeraRoad Inc.’s development in the Gulch, the Nashville Business Journal has learned.
The Patterson House and The Catbird Seat will both soon occupy the historical Voorhees Building’s rooftop. The property is one part of SomeraRoad’s Paseo South Gulch project on Eighth Avenue South.
Ian Ross, founder of the New York City-based real estate firm, confirmed the news on Monday but declined to provide further details.
A lease is in place and will begin this year, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. Max Goldberg, a co-owner of Strategic Hospitality, declined to comment.
The eateries are the third dining tenants that the Voorhees Building has secured since its renovation. Last week, the Business Journal reported that local favorite coffee shop Barista Parlor is moving its existing Gulch operation to the property.
The Patterson House and The Catbird Seat are currently located in Midtown, at 1711 Division St. The Patterson House is a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge, and The Catbird Seat is an intimate, chef-run restaurant that serves a rotating tasting menu.
SomeraRoad has renovated the Voorhees Building to include 58,000 square feet of office space and a rooftop dining location facing Eighth Avenue South. The building sits adjacent to the construction site for Prima, the development’s first residential tower.
Other parts of the Paseo South Gulch project include another tower — which will hold a hotel and condo units but hasn’t broken ground yet — and the former Downtown Antique Mall, which has also been upgraded to hold office and retail.
In February, the Business Journal named Paseo South Gulch one of the city's boundary-pushing projects.
